a particular form of unhappiness. i think materialism. dr. oz: why is that? that's my problem by the way. why is that a form of unhappiness? >> think about perfectionism. the definition is dissatisfaction. you're dissatisfied with your performance or you're afraid of disappointing yourself or somebody else. that it's a continual state of not good enough. and that's an unhappiness kind of a -- dr. oz: that explains a lot. so we have perfectionism. >> we also have materialism. pursuing, just trying to get things in life. thinking about what you can get out of life instead of what you can give to it. that shift can really make a difference between being happy or not. dr. oz: what's the third item? >> i think a lot of people today struggle with entitlement. if you think about it, when we feel entitled to something, that just means emotionally we're much more likely to feel disappointed when we don't get what we want than we are to feel grateful when we do. dr. oz: so you have brought along some tools that make it easier for us to become happy. these are easy boosters to happiness. simple ones we

. dr. oz: i like the idea of a camilleion disease. i see so many vague complaints it's hard to tie it together. i hear it all the time from our audience. why is it so common now? iverageds part of it is an increased awareness. but there really is a major increase in gluten sensitivity and problems. it could be two reasons. one is that there are more and more hybrids of wheats that are being developed all the time. there are 25,000 different varieties of them now. some may have more gluten. the other thing is if you think about it decades ago people made bread at home and had a long 11ing process and during that process the gluten ends up being broken up. nowadays bread comes from a factory and they're impashte to get it on the shelves so there's not so much time and there's more gluten in the final product. dr. oz: at some point everything has a genetic element. is it in our genes and there to stay or something we acquire? >> you are not born with it. it can come on at any point. even in mid to later adulthood. but what you are born with are the genes that allow it to happen. zphro

during "happening now." the severely injured young woman visited new york city. dr. oz, host of a publ indicated tv show, was in his office when he heard the chaos along with several others. they may have saved that woman's life. here is more. julie? >> pretty dramatic stuff right outside our offerses here. dr. oz heard the accident outside of his office window. the accident being blamed on road rage between a taxi driver and a bike messenger. the cabbie knocked into the cyclist sending him into the hood of the car while running over a 23-year-old, severing her left foot and nearly her right leg. british tourist was enjoying her first day in the city while walking with her best friend eat ag hot dog. next part of the story makes it sounds like a movie. a pizza truck owner then grabbed the severed foot and put it in the same hot dog vendor's ice cooler where she had just bought her lunch but the hero was a plumber who happened to be walking by and made a tourniquet out of a belt. listen. >> i turned my head and dr. oz was there. oh, wow. dr. oz. what should i do? he said you're doing it
